Yes. It is possible to contact your hostess prior to the trip regarding the food. In that case, when you come to the check in you can go with her to the supermarket and get your groceries for the week.
Do I need to provide food for my skipper and hostess, if I booked one?
Yes. Whether you booked one of the food packages or not, you are obligated to provide meals for your skipper or a hostess.
Usually, guests buy one of our food packages which gets delivered on their yacht Saturday afternoon. If they bring their own food, they have to
You will be required to prepare your own food and clean up after yourself. Keep in mind that the skipper is also a part of the crew. Don’t forget to prepare a meal for him/her as well!
Remember that while booking a full yacht you have the option of booking a food package and a hostess who will cook and prepare the meals and clean after.
Since there is always a lot of work to be done around the boat to keep everything in order, every task must be properly delegated between the crew.
Primary duties of a hostess are taking care of the cleanliness and tidiness of the boat and preparing the meals for the crew.
She is responsible for:
Keeping the common boat areas nice and tidy (kitchen, salon, deck, cockpit)
Preparing light breakfast for the crew and the skipper
Preparing light lunch for the crew
Washing the dishes
Changing the toilet bin once daily or more if necessary
Taking out the trash
NOTE: Hostess does not clean the toilets used by the guests but she will replace the toilet bin every day. Hostess does not clean cabins as they are considered private guest rooms unless she is asked.
Our hostesses are educated and well informed so they can help you regarding everything you need.
Consider her and skipper as a part of your group. They will answer all your questions, give recommendations and explain things regarding the local traditions.
If you are booking a hostess you have to save a cabin for her and the skipper. If there are crew cabins on the boat, they are occupied by our staff. If there are no crew cabins on the boat, you have to save one bunk bed or a double bed cabin for the hostess and the skipper.
Bring a combination of beach clothes, casual clothes, and evening – if you like to go out and dress up!

Yachts
The main difference is the age of the boat.
Imagine a difference between a 10-15 year old car and a new car. It’s the same when it comes to boats.
Standard are older and premium and deluxe yachts are newer and nicer
Standard yachts were made from 2002 to 2015, and premium from 2016 to 2022.
Deluxe boats are made from 2018 to 2022 and have AC.
Every SailWeek yacht in Croatia, Montenegro and Malta is supplied with a WIFI device and has unlimited data for a week so you can freely enjoy your holiday by sharing photos and videos on Social media by tagging Yacht & Skipper.
Unfortunately in Greece there is not an option to have a WiFI on the boat.
Cafes and restaurants in all our destinations have free internet access for customers and are easily accessible any time we are not sailing.
Only a few of the biggest and newest mono hulls and some of the catamarans will have A/C available.
Air conditioning on a boat is not of the same standard you may be used to on land! A/C on board is designed to be used when docked in the marina whilst sleeping and is sometimes not available in every cabin. The cooling ability is not as powerful as A/C found on land and when used continuously during the day the chance of malfunction increases.
Each yacht has an indoor and outdoor common area (saloon). They are compact but comfortable, although they are not especially spacious inside. There is a full kitchen and dining area on each yacht, as well as refrigeration, electricity, speakers, and other amenities.
The cabin rooms are shared. Most yacht cabins have a double bed which will hold two people. Others have bunk beds. The cabins have small cupboards and closets for clothes. There are bathrooms and showers on all yachts.
Please keep in mind that sailing yachts are not luxury hotels.
Most small electrical requirements require 240 volt power. The boat will only have 240 volt power when it is docked in the marina if you have not chosen to book a boat with the generator.
Phones, tablet computers, GoPros, and other similar items can be charged any time via a 12 volt to USB converter on the boat.
There is a possibility the yacht you have chosen when making your booking may not be available. As a result we reserve the right to cancel your booking up to 10 working days from your booking date. In all cases we will endeavor to offer an appropriate alternative yacht. If a suitable replacement is not available a full refund will be offered.
Sailing is an adventurous sport and damages on the boats are sometimes unavoidable. Charter companies own the boats and sometimes the yacht you booked unfortunately may not be available for your week due to damage or other reasons. For that we must reserve the right to replace the boat you have booked. If we are forced to replace the boat, we will notify you as soon as possible before departure and provide you with the same or similar model or standard of the yacht to the original booking. If the replacement yacht is of lower standard or price, we will always refund the difference in price.
All of our crew are fluent in English. They are excellent hosts and will go out of their way to make sure you have an incredible trip!
Health and safety
Safety is our number one priority. Our team consists of experienced skippers. As long as you listen to your skipper, you will be in good hands!
Sea sickness is something that can be managed. Skippers carry nausea/seasick prevention tablets. If you are feeling unwell, let the skipper know and he/she will look after you. Please note that avoiding acidic foods and drinks and not missing sleep can help prevent seasickness. If you know that you are prone to seasickness, you can prepare for your trip by checking out this website.
Yes, of course. Every yacht comes equipped with life jackets and dinghies. The skippers are more than happy to take you to and from the beach on the dinghy whenever you are anchored off shore.
It is a fundamental requirement that everyone using our services has a personal travel insurance policy. It is your responsibility to buy personal travel insurance. It should cover adventurous activities such as sailing, medical expenses including repatriation, loss or damage to baggage and personal belongings, money and public liability, cancellation of the flights, trips, excursions, lost luggage, death in a family, visa problems, injuries, pregnancy, etc...
By booking, you agree that all members of your party will have comprehensive travel insurance for the duration of your trip
You must ensure that you do not have any medical conditions that may inhibit traveling with SailWeek. The sailing trip is not strenuous (unless you want it to be). Guests are not required to perform any physical activity. However, you may choose to participate in sailing, snorkeling, and other sporting activities.
If you have concerns or questions regarding health requirements, please contact us.
If you or any member of your party have any disabilities, it is extremely important that we make the necessary arrangements to make your holiday go smoothly.
We must therefore insist that you contact our offices at info@XXXXXXXXXX before completing any reservation to ensure compatibility for the holiday that you chose.
